HI, i have uploaded a PDF recruitment flyer that includes more details of the study.
thanks!
Dr. Carpente,
,I am contacting you as a follow up to the Facebook discussion about the TIME-A study. I see that is takes place at Malloy college. What can you tell me about the study, I am assuming the study has to do with relatedness, are you looking for more children for the study?
Antoinette Morrison MT-BC
Hi Antoinette, thanks for your comment. The study is looking at the effectiveness of improvisational music therapy on child’s ability to relate and communicate. We are using standardized repeated outcome measures, such as ADOS and SRS. In addition, each country or site is also importing a variety of measures to study if there are correlations using standardized measures. For example, I have imported IMCAP seeking to find a) reliability, b) validity, and 3) associations and correlation with outcomes. I’ll upload the original journal article that discusses the original project protocols.
Best,
John
I am unfamiliar with ADOS and SRS?
Hi, ADOS ( autistic diagnostic observation schedule) is the gold standard used to diagnose children with ASD world wide. The SRS is the social repspnsiveness scale- this too is very reliable (not as reliable as ADOS, but right “below” it. My comments are all based on the literature. Thanks, john
