Course Description
This asynchronous course is taught by Dr. Debbie Bates, a recognized expert in music therapy ethics. Dr. Bates has presented on music therapy ethics both nationally and internationally and brings a wealth of clinical, educational, and scholarly experience to this course. Her expertise provides participants with practical, thought provoking guidance for navigating ethical issues in contemporary music therapy practice.
The course is designed to provide a practical and engaging foundation in music therapy ethics. Throughout the course, you will explore a series of video lectures accompanied by PowerPoint presentations, organized into easy to follow modules. Each module focuses on a specific topic and is designed to help you build knowledge that can be applied directly to your professional practice.

Prerequisites
Certification in music therapy or an equivalent credential from a recognized accrediting body. Students and other professionals may register and will receive a participation certificate. CMTE credits are awarded only to eligible credentialed music therapists.
CMTE Information
This course is approved by the Certification Board for Music Therapists for 3 Continuing Music Therapy Education credits. Developmental Music Health Services LLC Approved Provider P 255 maintains responsibility for program quality and adherence to CBMT policies and criteria.
Evaluation
Participants will complete the CBMT Quality Assurance Survey to receive their certificate.
Grievance Policy
Participants may submit concerns in writing within 2 weeks of course completion to info@DMHmusictherapy.com. All grievances will receive a written response within 2 weeks and may include clarification, review of materials, or additional support. Participants may submit a formal appeal if they are not satisfied with the resolution. After completing this process, participants may contact the CBMT Continuing Education Committee if concerns remain unresolved.
Refund Policy
All registrations are final. No refunds are issued. Course materials and recordings remain accessible for the designated access period.
