HI all,

Last Friday, on October 11th, nearly 200 participants attended the Rebecca Center’s SOLD OUT music therapy conference at Molloy’s Suffolk Center. It was an amazing day featuring a wonderful line-up of presenters, discussing IMCAP-ND (Music Therapy Assessment), Infant-Child Mental Health, Music-centeredness, treatment planning and goal writing, clinical practice of IMCAP-ND, and MT self-assessment. It was an honor for me to present along side Dr.Brian Abrams, Dr. Gerard Costa (Keynote), Jill Lucente,Gabriela Sofia Ortiz, and Dr. Suzanne Sorel.

Many of the participants who attended requested the powerpoints from the presenters. Thus, i will be posting each powerpoint on this blog as I recive them from each presenter (if approved)

All of that being said, I’m including my powerpoint presentation within this blog post. My presentation was entitled: “IMCAP-ND:  A Developmental Relationship-based Framework for Assessing Musical-Play Interactions.” The focus and purpose of the presentation was to simply provide an overview of the IMCAP-ND, creating a foundation for the presentations that would follow. The purpose was NOT  to provide a training on how to administer or apply the IMCAP-ND, rather, it was more about introducing the tool, providing participants with its purpose, function, foundations, as well as operationally defining some its key constructs.
